How MVcare Keeps Your Island Home Running Year-Round
Modern homes on Martha’s Vineyard rely on more technology than most people realize. Wi-Fi, cameras, thermostats, music, lighting and shades all depend on each other, and when one part stops working, the rest often follows. MVcare is the support membership from MVIS that keeps all of it running, whether you are here for the season or away for the winter.
This guide explains what MVcare includes, how the four plans differ, and how to choose the level of cover that matches your home. If you already work with MVIS, think of MVcare as the service layer that sits on top of the system we installed for you.
What MVcare Actually Covers
Every MVcare membership starts from the same idea: you should never have to wonder who to call, or how long you will wait. All plans include unlimited remote support, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Unlimited 24/7 remote support with a guaranteed response time
Priority scheduling ahead of non-members
Discounted labor rates on service work
Next business day remote appointments with our Advanced Support team
On-site response, monitoring and annual technology reviews on the higher plans
Appointments with the Advanced Support team are billed at an hourly rate, since labor is not included in a membership unless a plan states otherwise. Memberships themselves are month to month with no commitment, and annual billing saves ten percent. You can cancel at any time.
Why Support Works Differently on an Island
On the mainland, a technician can be at your door within the hour. Here, ferry schedules, seasonal traffic and winter weather change what is realistic. That is why a clear response time matters more than a vague promise to come out soon.
Distance is the real problem
Most home technology faults are small. A router needs a restart, a camera has dropped off the network, a firmware update failed overnight. These take minutes to fix remotely and days to fix if someone has to travel. MVcare is built around solving as much as possible before anyone gets in a van.
Secure remote access is set up in advance, so we can log in immediately
Your system documentation and service history are already on file
Guaranteed urgent on-site response is a membership benefit, while non-members can still book on-site help during normal business hours
The best service call is the one you never notice, because the problem was solved before you woke up.
Choosing the Right Level of Cover
There are four MVcare plans. What separates them is speed, access, and how much we do without being asked.
Essentials Plus
At $59 a month, this is round-the-clock remote help with a sixty minute response time, prioritized scheduling and discounted labor rates. It suits homeowners whose main priority is knowing that someone is reachable at any hour of any day.
Priority
At $179 a month, the response time drops to thirty minutes and urgent on-site help arrives within three business days. It adds two annual technology reviews, surveillance footage retrieval, and network configuration management for UniFi systems.
Proactive
At $329 a month, we watch your systems continuously instead of waiting for your call. This plan also opens up night and weekend appointments, lighting and shade scene reprogramming, and premium support for Comcast and other internet providers.
Signature
At $599 a month, this is our most complete membership: a ten minute response time, on-site help within one business day, four reviews a year, extended on-site hours from Monday to Saturday in select service areas, and front-of-line service every time.
When Members Notice the Difference
The value of a membership is easiest to see in ordinary situations.
Your internet drops on a Sunday evening with a full house of guests.
You are in Boston in February and the heating system loses its connection.
A camera stops recording and you need footage from three days ago.
A rental guest arrives and cannot get the television or Wi-Fi working.
Your lighting scenes no longer match the way you use the rooms.
Without a membership, each of these becomes a phone call, a wait and a scheduled visit. With MVcare, most are handled remotely, often within the hour.
How Monitoring Works, in Plain Terms
Proactive monitoring is included on the Proactive and Signature plans, and it checks on your equipment around the clock. It looks at whether devices are online, whether the network is healthy, and whether anything has stopped responding. If a system fails at two in the morning, an alert reaches our team rather than waiting for you to notice it at breakfast.
In practice, this is what catches a router going offline or a security camera dropping its feed, often before it affects your day. What we see is the status of the equipment.
What You Get for the Cost
Faults are caught early, so small problems stay small
Discounted labor lowers the cost of the work you do need
Fewer emergency visits, especially during the busy summer months
Your system stays updated and secure without you managing it
On monitored plans, an empty house is watched while you are off island
Getting Started with MVcare
Choose the plan that matches your home and how often you are here.
We document your system, set up secure remote access and run a full health check.
Prioritized support begins straight away, and monitoring starts as well on the plans that include it.
On plans with annual technology reviews, we go through your setup with you and adjust it as your home changes.

MVIS lives and works on Martha’s Vineyard. When you call, you reach people who know your house, your equipment and the roads between us — not a call center on the mainland.
